The Islamwire project is an ever changing, ever growing entity. At present the project consists of educational sections such as pillars and beliefs as well as tools such as islamwire.com/quran and islamwire.com gadgets. Access of the beliefs and pillars sections are relatively straightforward. On each main-page simply select the pillar or belief that you would like to access. Each section is superceded by informative papers related to the pertinent subject matter. All knowledge presented is done so from a Quranic perspective. Due to the multi-functionality of both the Quran and gadgets interfaces they may require an introductory explanation.

You can now add a daily ayah gadget to your website or start page. For example, if you have signed up for a Google account and have a personalized homepage, you can click on "Add stuff -> Add by url -> http://www.islamwire.com/widg/ayah.xml".

Islamwire.com/quran provides an easy to use, fully-functional interface to access and research Islamic scripture. The interface preloads in browse mode. You may select a chapter (sura) and part (logical division of sura into sections/stories/context) number then view in either html or flash mode. The html mode is ideal for research and self-study of the Quran in English and Arabic. Use the green arrows to change suras, sections, and format or enter the query directly into the text field then connect.

When selecting flash mode new windows will be opened by your browser in order to offer a unique and beautiful recitation of the Quran. It is recommended that you exit all external programs and browser windows prior to using this mode as the presentation’s synchronization is dependent on available processor cycles and memory. Do not close any windows opened by your browser after running flash mode. The Quran browser uses this technique to buffer upcoming sections. To exit a sura simply double-click the current verse using your mouse.

By selecting ‘search’ mode on the far left of the browse menu you may search the Quran in both Arabic and English regardless of system font.

Use the green arrows to select language (English/Arabic). Select the keyboard for an Arabic keyboard. Select phrase for a phrase that may not be exact. Select Boolean for a logical ‘OR’ search and exact for a logical ‘AND’ search. Enter the search term in the field marked Query and press the search button. A maximum of 100 results are returned per query.
